Tai Chi Chuan is one of the treasures of China’s heritage. It has a long history and contains
a vast body of information. It has valuable merits in the fields of self-defense, performance art,
health-maintenance, and personal development. It is based on the information
from Tai Chi Yin and Yand Symbol, Lao Tzu's teachings, traditional Chinese medicine, Chinese martial-art
principle, the art of nurturing life, Daoyin Principles, Tunian Principles (inhalation and exhalation),
and more. It has unique training method, abstract principles, and
practical and effective applications. They are difficult for the beginning students.
To attain any success in Tai Chi Chuan, it is necessary to begin with all the fundamentals
trainings. Fundamentals trainings in Tai Chi Chuan are the specific exercises to train
the body to have the condition capable to perform Tai Chi Chuan activity. Therefore, the
better one is worked on the exercises, the better one's body condition, the better one performs.
The quality of the fundamentals dictate one’s success in Tai Chi Chuan training and
accomplishment.
In the eye of many people today, Tai Chi Chuan is a health maintenance exercise, not a
martial-art style. For this, they ignored the value in fundamentals trainings and emphasized
solely on Tai Chi Chuan solo form practice. Therefore, one can witness these people's performance
with stiff body movements that locked of coordination and balance. This ignorance reduced the Tai Chi
Chuan health benefit, skill and performance. A correct training in Tai Chi Chuan should begin like any
Chinese martial-arts with fundamentals trainings to prepare the body to maximum its benefit and skill.
