10 Techniques Large Circle Solo Form

Due to the physical limitation, Tai Chi Chuan movements are done in circular motion. Depending on the size of the circle, the circular motion is divided into large, medium and small. Besides its function as martial art application, each circle size has a specific role and objective. The 10 Techniques Large Circle Tai Chi Chuan solo form is an abbreviated form from the traditional Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan form based on the teaching from Yang Cheng Fu. The form serves two functions. It is an excellent exercise to practice for health (The large and open movements improve blood and energy circulation). It is also a powerful fundamental exercise preparation for the martial art students (The twisting and stretching movements help strengthen ligaments, tendons as well as opening the bodily joints and make for a solid base for fajin). With the popularly of Tai Chi Chuan, there are many people wanted to learn it. However, since the pool of the perspective students come from all walks of life with vary physical conditions and abilities, the traditional large circle form has too much challenge for some of the perspective students.
